Native American Student Alliance Powwow

The 2nd Annual Native American Student Alliance Powwow featuring Native American arts, crafts and food is set for 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, on the front lawn of the Communications and Arts Center, Building B, at Cuyamaca College. The gourd dance begins at 10 a.m., with the grand entry set to start at 11 a.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in student lots.

The Native American Student Alliance (NASA) at Cuyamaca College is a student organization whose purpose is to promote tribal heritage and to educate others through activities and educational opportunities. Last year's inaugural powow drew Native American participants from throughout Southern California representing various tribal nations throughout the United States and Canada.  The event began with the grand entry of dancers in colorfully adorned regalia showcasing their unique dancing styles.
