CHANCELLOR/CLASSIFIED SENATE AWARDS

The Chancellor's/Classified Senate Quarterly Award provides an opportunity to honor classified employees whose job excellence and work ethic inspires others. The award celebrates 4 classified employees annually with recognition for their outstanding work.

Who's eligible:

Any contract, or percent of contract, classified employee. Any college or district employee can complete the nomination form.

Key attributes:

Describe on the Chancellor/Classified Senate Award Nomination Form how the employee has gone above and beyond the scope of his/her duties by demonstrating professionalism, sensitivity, commitment, and good communication skills to provide exemplary service to students, fellow employees, or the general public. This can include how the employee has made a difference for other classified employees and his/or department. Give specific examples of ways the employee helps promote the district's vision and mission, and embraces the five key values of "The Way Forward."

The Award:

The award includes an engraved trophy, $250.00 gift-certificate, recognition at the statewide Classified Leadership Conference and lunch out with the Chancellor & Governing Board president. The chancellor now delivers the announcement in person! Click here to see the photos from recent visits.

The Selection Process:

The Classified Senate will recommend one nominee each quarter for final selection by the chancellor. The nominator will be invited to join the Classified Senate president and the chancellor in presenting the award at a governing board meeting. Nomination forms can be placed in the Classified Senate Mailbox at each site or submitted online by emailing to classified.senate@gcccd.edu. For nomination format details, click on the links for previous staff member awardees (listed on the right) and review their nominations. Complete the form as requested for your nomination to be processed by the committee.

On May 24, 2006, all past recipients of the Chancellor’s/Classified Senate Award were invited to be honored at a luncheon celebration. This marks the 10th anniversary of this award program!
