Create an HTML Document in Word
This demonstration will show you how to create a picture for
use in your Outlook Stationery.
- Word
is open.
- Click
“Insert/Picture/From file…” as shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 1
- Now
you need to find a picture on your system. In this demonstration, I will
choose an existing picture on my hard drive as shown in Fig. 2. Please
click Insert once you have found a picture.

Fig. 2
- Now
you should see the picture in Word as shown in Fig. 3. I added a couple of
hard returns to lower the picture slightly.

Fig. 3
- Now
click File/Save as Web Page as shown in Fig. 4.

Fig. 4
- Now
you should see the familiar Save dialog box as shown in Fig. 5. Please
type a name and save it at this location: C:\WINDOWS\Application
Data\Microsoft\Stationery. This will make the stationery available in
Outlook. Click Save to continue.

Fig. 5
- In a
moment, your page will be displayed as a web page. Notice how the document
shifted to the left slightly as shown in Fig. 6. Also notice the name has
changed to “Dave1.htm” in the title bar of the document window.

Fig 6.
- That’s
it. Now, refer to the section on “How to use Stationery” and you should be
able to select the HTML document as your background as shown in Fig. 7. As
you can see, I am specifying the file name instead of starting with a
blank stationery as shown previously.
