EMAIL WEB ACCESS and UPGRADE TO NEW SERVER

We upgraded the District Email system in January 2014, and updated it in April 2014.
This will affect some smart phones and tablet devices connecting/syncing to GCCCD email.

If you receive a message after the April update to accept a security policy on your phone before being allowed to connect, you will need to delete the account from your phone and re-add it.

Important - iPhone and iPad Users who SYNC with GCCCD email: It is imperative that you upgrade your iPhone or iPad to the latest iOS version supported on your device.   Otherwise you will not be compatible with our new system and your device will be blocked from seeing our email server(s).

If you do not SYNC, but access your email through the web site, upgrading your device will not be required.

Here are some tips for connecting with your mobile device (Note: Desktop Outlook will not change):

  • For iPad and iPhone account settings (settings, mail, Exchange, Account): make sure you have gcccdedu in the domain field.
  • For Nexus phones and tablets: delete the Exchange account, turn off the device, turn on autosync, and recreate the account making sure you have gcccdedu in the domain field
  • For other devices, find the email preferences and fill in the domain field with: gcccdedu
  • If you do not have a domain field, your email username should be in the format: gcccdedu\firstname.lastname
  • Also, make sure you stop and restart the mail (and/or Calendar) app to notice the new setting and force a reconnect/resync.
