Request a book or article from another library via Interlibrary Loan

Grossmont College has an online ILL form that students can use to request books from other libraries.

Interlibrary Loans are books or journal articles that are not in Grossmont’s collection that may be requested from other libraries.  Grossmont College is part of the worldwide interlibrary loan system and thereby has access to materials from thousands of libraries.  Students, faculty, and staff may request items by completing a form while in the library or by using the on-line interlibrary loan form (PLEASE do not complete this form for this tutorial, unless you actually need the book for your research).

Obtaining Books
There usually is no charge for borrowing books.  Books from  SDSU  and Cuyamaca College can be obtained in a day or two.  Books from other libraries can take up to four weeks to obtain.

Obtaining Journal Articles
The Library usually sends the article as an attachment to the student’s email.  Journal articles from SDSU  and Cuyamaca College can be obtained in two or three days.  Articles from other libraries can take up to four weeks to obtain.

Additional information is available from the ILL webpage.
