Cuyamaca Campus Command Center (CC)

Primary
Responsibilities:

  • Collects, verifies and processes all information and intelligence
  • Evaluates and disseminates information for the CC
  • Monitors radio and television for information that may affect and/or impact Campus operations, primarily weather, road conditions and regional conditions
  • Maintains the current status of all Campus buildings, facilities, and operations.
  • Posts and maintains status boards and other CC displays
  • Identifies inconsistencies and verifies information for accuracy

Support
Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Public Information Officer at the District EOC with information verification, rumor control, and event posting
  • Assists the Operations Officer with keeping track of field operations, staff, numbers and the progress of building inspections
  • Assists the Student Affairs at the District EOC position with reports of injuries and status of students

Supplies:

District radio, Campus Site plan, Status Boards, Television and Radio

 

PROCEDURES

TIME/DATE

EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  

Report to the CC. Immediately get a report on emergency conditions and situations from Operations. Install and set-up status boards, maps, and other displays.

 
Collect information from all available sources and post it for easy access and interpretation, keeping the displays current and updated as new information is received. Identify inconsistencies or information that is obviously not correct. Refrain from posting information until it is verified.  
Maintain the CC Activity Log. Record major events, situation reports, major decisions, etc. Provide copies to the Incident Commander and other CC staff as needed.  
Provide status summary reports for the Planning and Intelligence Team Leader and others as needed.  
Verify information with representatives from other agencies on site.  
Evaluate information and disseminate it to CC staff, assisting with periodic briefings.  

Monitor radio and television broadcasts for information that is of importance to Cuyamaca operations, including:

  • Weather
  • Transportation Routes
  • Local Sheltering Sites
  • Major Activities at the Grossmont Campus
  • Major Activities that may impact Cuyamaca Operations
 
Take pictures of Status Boards at regular intervals as a record keeping measure to track the progress of operations.  
RECOVERY:  
Keep all original CC logs, photos of status boards and status summary reports in a binder or file for documentation.
