Primary
Responsibilities:

  • Assigns teams to make the initial damage inspections, coordinating with the Operations Section
  • Assesses and documents damage to the Cuyamaca Campus buildings and facilities
  • Determines the occupancy status of buildings, posting and securing unsafe buildings

District radio, ATC-20 Forms and procedures, Safety equipment for Inspection Teams.

 

PROCEDURES

TIME/DATE

EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  

Report to the CC. Immediately get a report on emergency conditions and situations.

 
Coordinate with the Incident Commander and Operations Officer to determine their priorities for the initial building inspections. Develop a priority list; also determining if it is safe for the inspectors.  
Coordinate with the Operations Officer to assign the Building and Utility teams and schedule inspections of the buildings, insuring they are provided with safety and personal protective equipment.  
Have teams use the building safety inspection forms in ATC-20. (Refer to the forms at the very end of this manual.) Receive reports and keep files on damaged buildings. Forward copies of reports and information to District EOC for application documentation.  
Post and secure damaged buildings and recommend emergency repairs. Follow the guidelines in ATC-20. If inspection operations require further inspection, request inspectors from the District EOC Request and contact utility and contracted resources as needed for special areas.  
Have teams provide sketches and photographs of damage. File all documentation by campus and building. Forward files to the District EOC for verification of disaster assistance applications.  
RECOVERY:  
Provide information, recommendations, and assistance to the Planning and Intelligence Officer.  
Support the District EOC with the OES/FEMA disaster assistance application process.
