| EMERGENCY RESPONSE: | |
| Report to the EOC. Sign in with Situation Status (Log Keeper). Immediately get a report on emergency conditions and situations. | |
| Determine the status of all students at both campuses. Work with the Operations Team to ensure that all students have evacuated District property, if required. If any students are left on campus, arrange for care or transportation to a Red Cross Shelter. The District Liaison position will be able to find out shelter locations from the County EOC. | |
| Set up a telephone answering system for student inquiries. If the campus communication system is damaged or not operating, this may be a voice mail box or 1-800 line at another location. Establish office hours for a help line and live staff assistance, if needed. | |
| If student volunteers or temporary hires are requested, work with the Personnel position to establish positions, skills, work hours and locations. Assist with recruitment. | |
| Coordinate all information released to students with the Senate and Instructors representative and the Public Information Officer. Ensure consistence of messages. | |
| If the campus is open, establish an information booth for students to get information regarding the resumption of classes. | |
| If the District records and file areas are damaged, work with the Planning and Intelligence Team Leader to coordinate the retrieval and restoration of student files. |
| RECOVERY: | |
| Support the Chancellor's recovery plan. Coordinate as much as possible between the students and the Senate and Instructors to provide for a smooth resumption of educational programs. | |
| If educational programs are interrupted for a significant time (more than two weeks), and/or will not be able to resume at the previous times, places and with the same instructors, develop a contingency plan to address lost time, restoration of programs, impacts to course credit and certification programs and other issues. | |
| If students qualify for FEMA/OES disaster assistance, assist with the program application, as appropriate. | |
| Assist, as requested, with the After Action Report. Student issues may not be part of the format, but may provide detail to support operational actions taken during the emergency response. |
