  • Provide a health and safety check of buildings and classrooms to allow reoccupation of buildings and areas.

PROCEDURES

TIME/DATE

EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  

Report to the EOC. Sign in with Situation Status Immediately get a report on emergency conditions and situations. Check in with the Operations Team Leader.

 

Evaluate all operational incidents for safety and health issues. Make recommendations regarding safe operations to the Operations Team members.

 

Inventory the safety equipment on campus. Work with Resources and Logistics to provide safety equipment to responders. Request procurement of safety equipment, as needed. Safety equipment may include hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, rain gear, sun shades, signs, barricades, etc.

 

Assist with building inspections and conduct health and safety inspections of all buildings to be reoccupied. Arrange for a RED or YELLOW placard if a building or classroom has restricted entry. Provide a report on the status of the building to the Operations Team Leader.

 

Assist with all operations to provide for and protect the health of anyone on site or people nearby the campus.

 

Assist the Public Information Officer with messages to employees and the public regarding GCCCD hazards and conditions.

 

If a shelter is established on campus, assist with the provision of sanitation and cleanliness by determining minimum health standards and procedures. Evaluate for potential problems including, potable water, refrigerated food, personal privacy, etc. Be especially aware of any conditions that may arise if the shelter is opened to the public and attracts homeless or seriously ill persons.

 

Report any health hazards to the Operation Team Leader and request assistance from the County Public Health Services, as needed.

 

Prepare a site Health and Safety Plan, if needed for special operations.

 
RECOVERY:  

De-activate your position in the EOC as directed by the Operations Team Leader. Keep copies of all of your logs, reports, messages, and any other documents you used and received in the EOC for your own records. Keep these copies for a period of one year or as directed by the EOC Operations Team Leader.

 

Provide a summary report of health and safety operations, actions taken, coordination with other agencies and related information for the GCCCD After-Action Report. Forward your information to the Operations Team Leader.

 

Prepare any documentation required under local, state and federal regulations for reports and certification.
