Primary
Responsibilities:

  • Makes an initial safety inspection of all building and facilities on campus
  • Provides immediate response to emergencies regarding buildings and facilities
  • Cordons off and restricts access as needed until further repairs can be made
  • Inspects utility systems and turns off utilities, when necessary

Support
Responsibilities:

  • Police

  • Lt Search and Rescue Teams

  • Inspection and Posting Teams

  • Health and Safety

Supplies:

District radio, access to telephone or message runners, utility shut-off tools, building posting materials

 

PROCEDURES

TIME/DATE

EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  

Report to the EOC. Sign in with Situation Status Immediately get a report on emergency conditions and situations. Check in with the Operations Team Leader.

 
Assign teams to inspect buildings and utility controls. Check all buildings and facilities.  
Restore utilities, if possible. Turn off utilities, when required.  
Cordon off and restrict access to damage and hazard areas. Post buildings and utilities with important information for inspectors, as needed.  
Assist with immediate repairs and temporary measures for utilities, as requested.  

Assist with search and rescue, as requested.

 

Assist with traffic control, as requested.

 

Assist with evaluation of buildings and classrooms for safe occupancy, as requested.

 

Provide support to all operations throughout the duration of the emergency response.

 
RECOVERY:  

De-activate your position in the EOC as directed by the Operations Team Leader. Keep copies of all of your logs, reports, messages, and any other documents you used and received in the EOC for your own records. Keep these copies for a period of one year or as directed by the EOC Operations Team Leader.

 

Provide a summary report of Building and Utility operations, actions taken, coordination with other agencies and related information for the GCCCD After-Action Report. Forward your information to the Operations Team Leader.

 

Assist with the preparation of buildings for the resumption of the education program.
