Coordination with Emergency Response Agencies:
All persons working in areas where hazardous materials
are used or stored have been trained to call 911 during emergencies,
followed by a call to the Risk Manager or available emergency contact
person.
The District Risk Manager (or designated emergency
contact person) may, in turn, choose to call fire, police or HMMD as
required.
In all cases, the District Risk Manager (and/or one or
more of his qualified agents) shall report to the location of the
emergency with a copy of the Emergency Response Plan to render assistance
to and coordinate actions with the responding agencies.
Implementation of the Emergency Response Plan:
During their annual refresher training, those employees
working with hazardous materials are made aware of the various provisions
of the Emergency Response Plan.
While all employees are kept aware of emergency
evacuation routes and procedures by posted signs and drills, those
employees who are responsible for reporting to specific areas to perform
important tasks receive additional activity training as appropriate.
