Injury and Illness Prevention
PROCEDURE I.G. TRAINING
The district views training as an important element is a safety and health program. Safety training must be specific to the hazards employees face in their jobs, and must include more generalized instruction to increase safety awareness and knowledge of safety and health matters.
Supervisors must be familiar with the safety and health hazards to which their employees may be exposed. the district will provide supervisors with safety and health training to make them more effective in their jobs.
In order to ensure employee compliance with safe and health work practices, the district's policy is to assure that training shall be provided at the following times at a minimum:
Supervisors will be trained to know safety and health hazards to which their employees may be exposed.
Employees must be taught to recognize the hazards in their jobs and how to protect themselves. training in general safe work practice, such as how to safely lift, is also to be given to employees. Employees are to be given specific safety training instructions regarding the hazards unique to the jobs they do before they begin that task.
Science and Arts instructors shall be given training each school year in correct safety and health procedures in their respective areas. |
