Remove Saved Passwords from a Web Browser
If your browser asks if you want to remember a password, do not select 'Yes'!
The instructions below display steps to remove a saved password depending on which browser you are using.
Internet Explorer
On Windows 7
- Select Tools from the browser menu
- Select Internet Options
- Select the Content tab
- Under the AutoComplete section, click the Settings button.
- Select the Delete AutoComplete history… button to remove the password
On Windows 8
- Select Tools from the browser menu
- Select Internet Options
- Select the Content tab
- Under the AutoComplete section, click the Settings button
- SelectManage Passwords
- Select the Web Credentials Manager
- Click on the drop down arrow next to the appropriate web site
- Select Remove to remove the password
Firefox
- Select the Firefox menu button (it looks like 3 horizontal lines in the upper right corner)
- Select Options
- Select the Security button
- Select the Saved Passwords... button
- Select the appropriate site and username to remove
- Select the Remove button to remove the password
Chrome
- Select the Chrome Menu Icon (it looks like 3 horizontal lines in the upper right corner)
- Select Settings
- At the bottom of the Settings page, select theShow Advanced Settings link
- Under the Passwords and Forms section, select theManaged passwords link
- In the Saved Passwords box, select the appropriate site, and select the X button next to it to remove the password
Safari
- Select Safari from the browser menu
- Select Preferences
- Select the Autofill button
- Select the Edit button next to User namesand passwords
- Select the appropriate site and username to remove
- Select the Remove button to remove the password
