EL CAJON, CA - The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District’s popular biannual surplus auction returns in May 2026. Each year, the District holds auctions designed to meet sustainability goals, reduce its carbon footprint, and upcycle reusable equipment to benefit the community.

Providing gently used supplies and equipment helps local businesses and residents, while reducing landfill waste. Proceeds from the auction support District programs, and replenish equipment and supplies. This year’s auction features a wide range of popular items, including Mac and PC computers and accessories, golf carts, parking pay stations, athletic and exercise equipment, and a decommissioned public safety training vehicle, with less than 100,000 miles.

The online auction goes live on May 11, 2026, and runs through May 26, 2026. Visit https://www.gcccd.edu/auction to learn more.

The auction, which is open to the public, encourages local and regional business owners and individuals to browse and bid on surplus items offered by the District, Grossmont, and Cuyamaca colleges.

Available items include:

•          Golf carts
•          Apple and Dell computer products
•          Kitchen equipment
•          Shipping containers
•          Medical equipment
•          Automotive testing equipment
•          Microscopes and other lab equipment

Some items will be sold individually, while others will be offered by the pallet. Auction winners may pick up their purchases on Thursday, May 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or Friday, May 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Item descriptions and lot numbers will identify the designated pick-up location. All sales are final.
