Grossmont College to Host 48th Annual Career Expo and Job Fair on October 8
EL CAJON, CA — On October 8, 2026, employers from across the region will attend Grossmont College’s 48th Annual Career Expo and Job Fair, held in the main quad at Grossmont College from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 600 job seekers, including students, alumni, staff, and community members, are expected to attend the free event, where they can connect with more than 100 prospective employers and discuss open positions, benefits, and career growth opportunities.
The event will feature networking opportunities, translation services, résumé and
cover letter assistance, professional attire resources, and more. Job seekers can explore employment services, community resources, and in-demand careers
and have professional headshots taken. Additionally, prospective candidates can register
for and attend the Professional Skills for the Modern Workforce Workshop that day
to build confidence before meeting with potential employers. Those who attend the
workshop will receive a digital badge verifying their participation that they can
share on their LinkedIn profiles.
“Career fairs are an important part of the student experience because they bring the classroom and the workforce together. Students will have the opportunity to meet employers face-to-face, learn about careers they may not have considered, explore internships and employment opportunities, and practice professional skills needed to be a successful candidate. For many students, that first conversation with an employer can be the connection that opens the door to a new career pathway. Our 48th Annual Career EXPO/Job Fair gives students a chance to see what is possible, build their professional networks, and take a meaningful step toward their future,” said Renee Nasori, Career Services Supervisor, Grossmont College.
A job seeker scavenger hunt will also take place, with participants who complete the scavenger hunt able to select from a variety of college swag.
Last year’s event achieved record attendance despite inclement weather, with 87 registered companies and 79 employers representing various industries throughout the region. The event served more than 500 students and job seekers.
“The 48th Annual Career Expo is one of the largest and most engaging events in San Diego’s East County, bringing educators and employers together with students to explore careers, learn about job opportunities, and participate in interviews. It’s a wonderful way for the college and district to connect with the community and help people achieve their goals,” said Dr. Javier Ayala, Dean of Career Tech, Workforce Development and Career Services.
Companies and organizations registered to attend this year include the Cajon Valley
Union High School District, San Diego Sheriff’s Office, San Diego Police Department,
OneWell Health Care, SAY San Diego, Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Public Authority
Services of San Diego County, Gafcon, and many more. The event is sponsored by Grossmont
College, San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill San Diego County, International
Rescue Committee, Public Consulting Group, Fastenal, and the San Diego Workforce Partnership.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in Parking Lot 7.
