The 11th Annual East County EDC 2026 Manufacturing Expo, proudly hosted by Cuyamaca College, draws record attendance

El Cajon, CA - Cuyamaca College, in partnership with the East County Economic Development Council (ECEDC), once again hosted the 11th Annual Manufacturing Expo, bringing together nearly 1,000 students to meet with manufacturers, educators, workforce development organizations, government leaders, and community stakeholders in the region's advanced manufacturing industry.

Proudly sponsored by the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (the District) and other partners, the event showcased the District's ongoing commitment to workforce development by connecting students, job seekers, and industry professionals with career opportunities, emerging technologies, and educational pathways that support San Diego County's economic growth.

The ECEDC event featured hands-on demonstrations, industry exhibits, and expert presentations, allowing attendees to explore established and emerging manufacturing opportunities, while learning about available training programs. The Expo emphasized the critical role that District partnerships with industry and local manufacturers plays in supporting the development of educational programs. Engaged industry partners provide the feedback needed to create innovative education and career-focused programs that support the growth of a local skilled talent pipeline.

In addition to networking opportunities, attendees gained valuable insights into resources available to manufacturers and workforce partners, including no-cost business advising, workforce training funding, smart manufacturing initiatives, maritime industry opportunities, and the forthcoming Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. Together, these efforts underscore the District's leadership in fostering economic mobility, supporting regional industries, and preparing the next generation of skilled workers throughout East County and the greater San Diego region.

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (the District) includes Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges, which offer hundreds of degree and certificate programs, including Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Advanced/Basic Certificates. The District is the largest provider of higher education and job training in East County, and is a top transfer pathway to San Diego State University. The colleges lead the way in developing educational programs, classes, and services that meet the needs of the community of learners, and prepare students to meet changing community and workforce needs, while advancing social justice and economic mobility.
