EL CAJON, CA- The Grossmont College Hyde Art gallery will host a closing reception on Tuesday, May 26th for their Spring 2026 Student Art Exhibition from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This recurring, semester-closing exhibition highlights the most exciting and innovative art and design projects that Grossmont College art students produced this semester, including ceramics, digital media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and jewelry.

At 5pm that evening, the Visual Arts & Humanities Department will begin an award ceremony honoring some exceptional student artworks on display. At this point most award-of-merit recipients have already been selected, but there is still one final prize up for grabs, our coveted People’s Choice Award. All reception attendees will have the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite piece and help decide the winner, who will receive an award certificate and $100 cash prize.
