All CA residents students (or AB540 eligible) enrolled full-time are eligible to complete the 2 Promise requirements by the semester deadline, to receive FREE tuition and mandatory fees.

Full-time students who are CA residents (or AB540 eligible) are eligible to complete the below requirements by the semester deadline to receive FREE tuition and mandatory fees. 

  1. Full-time (12 units) 
  2. Financial Aid Application

          FAFSA (U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens) How-to Video or

          CA Dream Act (Eligible undocumented students)  How-to Video

First-time Students at Grossmont College have an additional resource of the Via Rápida First-Year Experience (FYE) program

Via Rápida First-Year Experience (FYE) program is a student support program that helps guide first-time college students throughout their first year at Grossmont College by providing numerous benefits and services. FYE students will receive benefits such as priority registration, peer mentoring, exclusive counseling access, and a summer welcome session known as Griffin Experience. All first-time college students who submit a FAFSA or the Dream Act (or are intending to) are welcome to apply! Enroll and complete 12 units each semester 

Full time enrollment is required to remain eligible for the Promise. 

Students who withdrawal below 12 units will no longer be eligible for the Promise. They do NOT have to pay costs back.

Students who maintained full-time enrollment and a cumulative 2.0 GPA must complete the requirements below, by the semester deadline, to be awarded the Promise in the Fall semester of the 2nd year.

  1. Enroll in 12 units
  2. Complete a NEW Financial Aid Application
