Requirements to Maintain Eligibility


Students must maintain full-time enrollment in each semester to remain eligible for The Promise. Enrollment in, and completion of, at least 12 units*. *Students with disabilities may contact disability services at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College regarding potentially receiving a unit accommodation for a reduced course load.

Students who drop below 12 units will no longer be eligible for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca College Promise. They will NOT have to pay back the tuition and mandatory fees paid by The Promise in the current semester.

Students are notified of the award determination via email, about four (4) weeks after the semester begins.

 

2nd Year PERSISTENCE Requirements - Completed in First Year

Students must meet the below two (2) requirements in the Spring semester to be eligible for review for completion of  2nd Year requirements in Fall

  1. Complete 12 units* in the Spring semester. *Students with disabilities may contact disability services at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College regarding potentially receiving a unit accommodation for a reduced course load.

  2. A cumulative 2.0 GPA, or higher, in the first year.

 

2nd Year ELIGIBILITY Requirements - Completed before Fall of 2nd Year

Students who maintained accumulative 2.0 GPA and the full-time enrollment in their 1st Year, must complete the two (2) requirements below by the semester deadline to be awarded the Promise in the Fall semester of their 2nd Year.

  1. Maintain full-time (12 units*) enrollment in Fall and Spring.  *Students with disabilities may contact disability services at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College regarding potentially receiving a unit accommodation for a reduced course load.
  2. Complete a NEW Financial Aid Application for the new academic year.
