• Shipping, Receiving and Distribution: We manage the receipt and timely delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for classrooms, labs, and administrative offices. All packages are opened, inspected for damage and if needed, verified against a Purchase Order. We also coordinate with the Purchasing Department on the return of incorrect or damaged items.
• Inventory Control and Asset Management: We maintain accurate records of fixed assets (like equipment, vehicles, and technology) to ensure the colleges meet financial and legal accountability requirements of public funds. Equipment received in the Warehouses valued at $500 or more will be tagged and entered into the District’s inventory system.
• Mail and Courier Services: We manage the pickup and drop off of the external mail for Grossmont College and facilitate communication on both campuses with inter departmental mail deliveries. This includes as needed courier services between the campuses of mail, equipment, and printing jobs, etc.
• Surplus and Disposal: We coordinate the efficient and compliant disposal, recycling, or auctioning of outdated equipment and surplus college property. This clears space and, in the case of auctions, can generate revenue that is put back into supporting college operations. We also repurpose surplus property before selling at auction by making usable items “Available for Department Transfer”.
• Shredding and Recycling Printer Ink Services: We manage the pickup of used toner and printer ink and facilitate the return to authorized recycling centers. We also coordinate with the campus departments for the pickup of documents to be shredded in our Warehouses and recycled.
