Partnerships and Collaborations

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District collaborates with other education institutions, community organizations, and other regional partners to strengthen our communities and offer more opportunities for our students.

The District is a proud member of the San Diego and Imperial Counties Community Colleges Association (SDICCCA). Our six community college districts, and their respective colleges, serve as essential pathways to higher education and workforce development and training for over 200,000 students. Through SDICCCA, we work closely with local universities and industry partners to strengthen our regional economy.

The District engages with federal, state, and regional leaders in advocacy to better serve our students and communities, and proudly partners with local organizations such the East County Economic Development Council (ECEDC), the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, and the San Diego & Imperial Counties Regional Consortium on local workforce development.

The District’s award-winning Community Engagement Project assists adult learners in communities across East County with finding an educational path to well-paying jobs. Project partners include the United Domestic Workers (UDW), K-12 schools, libraries, medical providers, area non-profits, refugee-serving organizations, housing advocates, faith-based organizations, labor allies, and many more.

The East County Education Alliance (ECEA) is an innovative educational partnership with the District, Grossmont Union High School District, the Mountain Empire Unified School District, Helix Charter High School, Bostonia Global High School, and Steele Canyon Charter High School, that creates seamless pathways for students from high school to college.

The Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges raises awareness and financial resources for our two colleges and their students. In 2024-2025, over 650 students received a Foundation scholarship, with nearly $130,000 distributed as part of the Promise Plus Scholarship program.

Additonally, we partner with local media outlets, such as the East County Community Times, East County Magazine, the La Mesa Courier (Times of San Diego), the East County Californian, and the Alpine Sun, in order to better share our stories with our communities.
