Early College Credit / Dual Enrollment 

Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges offer various opportunities for high school and adult education students to earn college credits.  While the initial college application process is the same, the forms and processes to follow are unique.

Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges partner with various high school districts, charter schools and adult schools to offer college courses to a diversity of students.  Our partners include:

East County Education Alliance

The East County Education Alliance was established in 2014 and formalizes the educational partnership between Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College and high school partners at Grossmont Union High School District, Mountain Empire Unified School District, Helix Charter High School and Steele Canyon High School.  Partners collaborate on an ongoing basis to plan and implement initiatives in priority areas including Early College Credit/Dual Enrollment, Outreach and Career Pathway Development.

College Promise

The California College Promise offers free tuition and mandatory fees for first time, full-time college students who are California residents or nonresidents eligible for tuition exemption.  Students are eligible to receive this support for up to two years if requirements are maintained.  There is no income requirement and no age limitation.

Adult Education

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District collaborates as an active partner with the East Region Adult Education Consortium (ERAE) to serve adult learners.  Transition Specialists provide essential support and transition planning for students to meet their education and career goals.  The Community Engagement Project works closely with community organizations to expand pathways for underrepresented groups.  Adult education students in the High School Diploma/Equivalency program have the unique opportunity to participate in dual enrollment with GCCCD each semester.  For further details, contact Grossmont Adult School.

Community and Workforce Education

Disability Support Services trainings are offered as fee-based, not-for-credit courses.  Residential Services Specialist courses meeting licensing requirements for the San Diego and Imperial Counties Regional Center are taught to individuals who plan to open an Adult Residential Facility for persons with disabilities.  These trainings have been provided by GCCCD for over 30 years.
