Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) at GCCCD
Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District has deployed single sign-on (SSO) for access to GCCCD resources. This means almost all resources and services are tied to one account. To protect your data and privacy, multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now required to log in to your account.
What is MFA?
Multi-factor authentication is a security process that asks you to provide two or more verification methods, like a password and a code sent to your phone, to access a system. This extra layer of security helps keep your account safe even if one of your verification methods, like your password, is compromised.
Setting Up MFA
Visit our Microsoft Authenticator page to find out how to set up MFA. It’s easy and quick!
Recommended MFA App
We recommend using Microsoft’s Authenticator app because it’s user-friendly, secure, works both online and offline…and it’s free! While you can use any authenticator app compatible with Microsoft 365, please note that our Help Desk offers limited support for apps other than Microsoft Authenticator.
Alternative MFA Options
If you don’t have a compatible mobile device, you can use your mobile number for texting and voice calling MFA.
