Adjunct Benefits


Adjunct faculty who become eligible for the District plans can participate in the following:

  • Medical - Your Choice of Medical Plans
  • Delta Dental (HMO or PPO)
  • VSP Vision PPO

Please click on the left-hand side menu for more information about these three plans and how to become eligible for them. Adjunct Faculty who are not aready enrolled in Benefits may apply to our Benefits Program before the start of each semester by the deadlines listed below.

Deadline to apply for Fall 2025: August 6th, 2025

Deadline to apply for Spring 2026: January 7th, 2026

Once enrolled, an employee may experience a qualifying event (such as marriage, divorce, birth of baby, adoption and employment status change) that will allow a mid-year change to their current benefits. The employee is responsible for notifying Human Resources within 30 days of any qualifying event that would cause a change in benefit status including a COBRA eligibility change.  If this deadline is missed, the employee must wait until the next open enrollment period to make changes to their enrollment coverage.  

Additional Plans:

All Adjunct Faculty are eligible for the Voluntary plan of Income Protection. To find out more about this plan please visit the Voluntary Plans Page

Adjunct Faculty may also sign up for Deferred Compensation plans any time of the year (403B/457B retirement savings plans). please visit the appropriate Retirement Plans section on the Retirement Plans Page for information on how to sign up with the vendor and in Workday. 

 

A note on Open Enrollment:
Open Enrollment is 10/06/25 through 10/31/25

  • This Open Enrollment period is for benefitted and benefit eligible employees only.
  •  If you are an adjunct who is NOT currently enrolled in benefits for Fall 2025, then Open Enrollment does not apply to you. Adjunct (part-time) Faculty have a special application period for Benefits about four (4) weeks prior to the start of each semester. If you are an adjunct faculty not currently enrolled in benefits, your next application period is by the January 7, 2026 deadline. Please be sure to submit an 2026 Adjunct Faculty Health Insurance Request Form to apply for benefits.
